Coalition for the Elimination of Imperialism in Africa
Anti‑imperialist and socialist movement in defense of all African people.
About
Ideological Position of the Coalition for the Elimination of Imperialism in Africa (CEIA)

Organizers from various Anti-Imperialist and Socialist organizations have formed the Coalition for the Elimination of Imperialism in Africa (CEIA), a multi-continental coalition in response to western aggression against Niger and other countries in the Sahel asserting their right to independence.
The Coalition for the Elimination of Imperialism in Africa is an anti-imperialist, socialist, movement in defense of all African people’s struggle for liberation and self determination. We oppose the international imperialist gang, their neocolonial servants, and others who align with them, terrorizing, undermining and invading sovereign entities to oppress, exploit and destroy life.
We have three defining objectives:
- To inform the international public about the anti-colonial struggles sweeping across Africa and provide an anti-imperialist perspective of the region's developments.
- To develop solidarity networks for anti-imperialist organizations based in Africa to support their struggle on the front-lines.
- To organize international campaigns in solidarity with those anti-colonial struggles sweeping across Africa.
Principles of the Coalition
Anti-Imperialism
Imperialism is the primary contradiction of the world today. We recognize that this international system through which a handful of people use military might, violence, and economic coercion to steal and control the resources of Africa is the primary enemy of the African masses.
The international imperialists, their domestic servants including the local political and economic rulers, oppress and terrorize African people, subvert and topple African institutions, and maim and terminate life in order to extract superprofits from African people and land. Human and other natural resources of Africa serve as the backbone of the global capitalist-imperialist system.
The triumph of the African revolution is the only force strong enough to defeat imperialism. Like the great Ahmed Sekou Toure stated, ‘imperialism will find its grave in Africa’. Therefore, a paramount imperative of Africans around the world is to organize to defeat imperialism.
Scientific Socialism
As capitalism was the system that led to the total enslavement of African people, it only makes sense that we would use its antithesis, socialism, to free ourselves.
Capitalism is a system that necessitates the exploitation of the working-class to enrich and empower a small elite.
Socialism is a system that uses the fruits of our collective labor for our collective benefit.
There can be no liberation of Africa without a complete break with the capitalist/imperialist system and the destruction of the capitalist structures implanted in Africa that enable the neocolonial situation. When we apply socialism correctly through a scientific approach, which analyzes the historical and current material, social, and cultural conditions of our people, it will ensure our enduring victory and liberation.
Pan-Africanism
Pan-Africanism is an objective. It means the total liberation and unification of Africa under Scientific Socialism. This unity emerges from our common history of resistance to foreign invasion, slavery, colonialism, and neocolonialism and, as such, we are bound as one people. Like the great Pan-Africanist Kwame Nkrumah said, ‘ All people of African descent, whether they live in North or South America, the Caribbean, or in any part of the world are Africans and belong to the African nation.’ We have a common enemy - capitalism/imperialism and we share a common destiny. We assert that Pan-Africanism is the only solution to all the problems faced by African people. The aspirations of African people can only be fulfilled under a federated United States of Africa which will not only protect African people and safeguard our liberation, but will also advance the triumph of the international socialist revolution and the onward progress towards world communism.
Anti-Patriarchy
There can be no African unity without fighting against the oppression of our people due to their gender or sexuality. Imposed by the West, patriarchy is a legacy of colonialism wherein African girls and women in particular are targeted for domination and LGBTQ Africans are targeted for elimination.
This is a rupture of Africa’s humanist principles, partially represented by the dictum “Live and Let Live”. Patriarchal, anti-LGBTQ systems of domination direct violence towards Africans, exhausting our forces and leaving them scattered and in disarray.
The struggle for Africa’s liberation requires a united, coordinated fight against imperialism and neocolonialism. The victory of our struggle for liberation depends on our struggle against oppression of ALL Africans.
